Time & Numbers

The castle of Sepulveda (10th century) and its clock wall, in the Main Square of the town, Segovia, Spain.
Children apply their knowledge of numbers in social contexts to explain, inform and solve number problems in the target language. Lessons develop counting skills, asking and telling time, learning the months of the year and days of the week. Children associate months with significant festivals and understand that time differs in parts of the world.
Time and number lessons invite children to interact in an additional language for various social purposes. Children communicate their birthdays, exchange daily greetings, count objects, go shopping, all while consolidating number sense and awareness.
